History of the Beloved Community

Beloved Community Corporation started our inception in July 2020, we have been dedicated to creating a supportive environment in Portage, Cuyahoga, and Summit Counties of Northeastern Ohio. Through the generosity our Good Neighbors, Volunteers and local donors, we helped
reduce recidivism, crime, poverty, and discrimination while fostering opportunity, increase social capital, freedom and peace. Offering hope to youth adults and families during the covid-19 pandemic by providing online and physical programing, groups and events to families, in addition to free clothing, Food, household items, supervision, spiritual guidance, opportunity and other resources for those in need.  Beloved Community was forced to reduce operations in June 2023 due to long covid complications of its management team.  Beloved Community temporarily closed when its founder suffered a heart attack January 1, 2024.

After a long process of prayer, healing and planning The Beloved Community is preparing for its relaunch in 2025.  Become a member "Good Neighbor" to stay updated as we move forward in creating The Beloved Community Corp.

The Beloved Community is a term popularized by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. during his lifetime of activism. His definition of the Beloved Community evolved over time, but it was fueled by his faith that such a community was possible.  King believed that creating a beloved community involves: Bridging the gaps between haves and have-nots creating more hope for the forgotten, disadvantaged and marginalized citizens of communities.
